Jamshedpur: A total of 13 people have been arrested on charges of gambling and Rs 47,000 seized in two cases over the past four days.
A police team was attacked when the personnel raided a gambling den at Bajrangibagan in Gadabasa under the Golmuri police station limits on Friday. The accused pelted stones at the forces and their women relatives manhandled the police.Four policemen received minor injuries. The police arrested seven. Besides, 12 others, including six women, have been named accused, said deputy SP, composite crime control, Animesh Kumar Gupta. Further, the police seized Rs 36,000 cash and three bikes .
In another incident, six were arrested from a gambling den at Subhashnagar in Govindpur under Pursudih police station on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday and Rs 11,000 cash seized, said DSP Gupta.

A case has been registered, and the police have obtained a four-day remand for further investigation.
Police in Delhi have seized over 11,000kg of firecrackers ahead of Diwali, with the largest haul being in the North district. The state government has banned the sale, storage, and manufacture of firecrackers in the city due to their negative impact on air quality. Police have been working with market associations and deploying plainclothes officers to identify and raid locations where banned fireworks are being sold. In total, 96 cases have been registered and 95 people arrested in connection with the seizure.
