The British gaming industry marks Safer Gambling Week 2023, an initiative promoting responsible betting. This year’s campaign, backed by key industry bodies, aims to surpass last year’s achievements in player safety and responsible gambling awareness.
Safer Gambling Week 2023, an annual initiative focused on responsible betting, commences today (13 November). Jointly run by the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), the British Amusement Catering Trade Association (Bacta), and the Bingo Association, this campaign aims to encourage safer gambling practices across the industry.

The 2023 Safer Gambling Week aims to surpass last year’s success. According to IGB News, in 2022, about 200K accounts set deposit limits during the event, a 12.5% increase from 2021, with 61% being first-time limit setters. The use of reality checks also saw a 300% increase, while social media impressions nearly reached 30 million, up 21% from the previous year.
