Police officer arrested while gambling
A POLICE official was arrested while playing inside a casino in Pasay City over the weekend.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said Major Rolando Regalado Isidro was arrested around 6:20 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, while playing slot machine inside the Resorts World Manila Casino in Pasay City.

The operation was conducted by the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) National Capital Region Field Unit, in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Special Operations Group, PNP Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) and the Security Management Office of the establishment.

Isidro is currently assigned at the Personnel Holding and Accounting Section of PNP Police Security Protection Group.

IMEG acting director Brigadier General Warren de Leon said police officers are prohibited from all forms of gambling as this “doesn’t give good impression in their conduct as law enforcers.”

“The bottom line is, we discourage our personnel from engaging in gambling activities since it is detrimental to their professional and personal values,” he said.

Isidro will face charges for violation of Article 231 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to memorandum circular 6, Series of 2016 and Violation of Republic Act 6713 or the Act of Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. (SunStar Philippines)
