Gambling at video game parlours will lead to legal action, warns Chanda collector | Nagpur News - Times of India

Chandrapur: District Collector Vinay Gawda has warned video game parlours against allowing gambling at their establishments.
In the backdrop of a youth committing suicide after suffering substantial losses due to gambling at a video game parlour, Gawda had convened a meeting with permit holders of video game parlours and card clubs in the district on Wednesday.
The district collector cited complaints received against video game parlours. He said it is imperative for video game parlor permit holders to strictly adhere to rules and conditions. “Any form of cheating or gambling within these establishments is strictly prohibited,” he said while emphasizing that stringent legal actions will be taken against violators.
Gawda said a joint team of police and administration would probe complaints lodged against video game parlours where gambling activities are reportedly taking place.
Senior officers from administration and the police department were present in the meeting.
