Udupi: 24 held in gambling den raid by Kota police, goods worth Rs 9 lac seized

Udupi, Aug 6: Kota police on Saturday, Aug 5, raided a gambling centre and arrested 24 persons and also recovered cash, car and goods worth Rs 9,77,260.

The accused involved in gambling and those arrested include Abdul Muneer, Salman, Basavaraja, Vishnu K V, Dinesh, K Vinayaka Sandeepa, Krishna, Sudhakara, Nagaraja, Subrahmanya, Sridhara E Antony Mascharenhas, Shrithiraj, Raghu, Hussain, Sandesh, Raju Mogera, Gopala, Ganesh, Mithun, Sudharma, Kamalaksha and Sudhakara.

On Saturday evening, a team led by Kota PSI Shambulingaiah along with the others raided the Vinayaka Hall near Guddeyangadi Cross of Molahalli village in Kundapura taluk and arrested 24 people on a tip-off about gambling activity goings-on. The total value of seized goods is put at Rs 9,77,260.

The seized assets include Rs 1,49,680 in cash, 52 gambling leaves, 3 steel tables, 24 plastic chairs, 3 cars, 2 motorbikes, 2 scooters and table cloth.
   
A case has been filed with Kota police station.
