A man is set to face trial after a gambling machine was reported to have been burgled, taken from a pub, and set alight. Officers were called to reports that the William Foster pub on Guildhall Street, Lincoln had been broken into and money stolen from the gambling machine during the early hours of Monday, July 10.
The gambling machine is reported to have been found in the garden area of the venue having been set on fire. A man was stopped and searched later that morning and arrested in connection with the offence.
Perry Calvert, 47, of Brayford Wharf North, Lincoln, was charged with burglary (other than dwelling) and arson. He was also charged with theft of a pedal cycle in connection with another incident.

Calvert pleaded not guilty to the offences when he appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 11. He has been remanded into custody for a trial, but a date has not yet been fixed.
