Combine team of Crime Branch and District Police raided a gambling den of listed Satta bookie Pappu Jain and nabbed 24 bookies and seized cash of Rs 52,000, 3 mobile handsets and records of Satta bookings amounting in lakhs of rupees, on Monday evening. It may be noted that under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Tushar Kant Vidyarthi police have started a special campaign against gambling activities under the supervision of Additional SP (City), Priyanka Shukla, Additional SP (City South), Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, Additional SP (North/ Traffic), Pradeep Kumar Shende, Additional SP (Rural), Shivesh Singh Baghel, Additional SP (Crime), Summer Verma and CSPs.

Continuing the campaign, police received information about Pappu Jain who was taking bookings of Satta near Hanuman Mandir in Shahpura area. Acting promptly, a combine team of Crime Branch, Gohalpur, Shahpura and Police Line raided the identified spot and nabbed Sonu Jain (32) of Shahpura, Sitaram Rajak (33) of Shahpura, Rajendra Namdeo (52) of Khairi Mohalla, Raja Ram Sahu (63) of Town Hall, Shyamlal Gond of Gotegaon, Ranjit Singh Dhurve of Ramkhiria, Devendra Gond of Shahpura, Mahendra Gontia of Shahpura, Bedi Prasad Pathak of Bilkhirva, Shekh Barkat of Shahpura, Imrat Lal Raikwar of Shahpura, Bhole Thakur, Pancham Lal Barman, Jitendra Rajak of Chargavan, Surendra Patel of Chargavan, Laxmi Prasad Rajak of Bhita village, Jalam Choudhary of Bhita, Dashrath Prasad Barman of Patharia, Suresh Singh of Bilkhirva, Chandmohan Barman of Khairi, Channu Mallah of Mal Kachar, Rammilan Mallah of Ramghat Piparia and Golu Singh of Khairi Mohalla. Police have seized the cash of Rs 52,000 collected through bookings of Satta, three mobile handsets and records of Satta bookings amounting in lakhs of rupees. Shahpura police have registered a case under Section 4A of Satta Act and Section 109 of IPC.
