With the growing legality and popularity of sports gambling, we are seeing more players violate the National Football League’s gambling policy. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, five players have been suspended for sports gambling with three being suspended indefinitely. Four of the players suspended were members of division rival Detroit Lions.

Shortly after the announcement of the suspensions, the Lions released Quintez Cephus and CJ Moore.The rules concerning sports gambling are rather simple with the NFL.

• Betting on NFL games is prohibited

• Betting on games at the team facility is prohibited. Team facility includes locker room, team hotel and team plane

• Betting on non-NFL games is allowed outside of the team facility

This is a lesson for all NFL players that if you are caught gambling, you will be punished.
