5 drunk men nabbed for causing disturbance, illegal gambling in Cebu City

FIVE drunk men who were causing a loud commotion were arrested in Sitio Tugasan, Barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City at 10:15 p.m., Sunday, February 23, 2025.

The suspects, who were taken to the Guadalupe police station, were identified as Jeremias Andalay Lumosag Jr. alias “Jr.” 29, a driver from Guadalajara, Barangay Guadalupe; Jundel Pañe Yanquin alias “Iping,” 20, a habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) driver; Delfin Pañe Yanquin, 62; Julius Ventura alias “Yos,” 44, all from Sitio Tugasan, Barangay Guadalupe; and Rommelito Sanipa Taboelog, 32, from Barangay Sapangdaku, Cebu City.

The police confiscated three small coins used for gambling and their bet money of P259.

According to the arrested individuals, they were having fun while drinking but were unaware that there had already been complaints against them.

Police Major Miles Damoslog, the chief of the Guadalupe police station, said that they received a complaint from the residents of the area, stating that despite it being late at night, the men were still causing noise, disturbing those trying to rest.

Even after being warned, they refused to listen, which prompted the quick response of personnel from the Guadalupe police station. They arrived to find the five men still shouting and gambling.

A case for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 will be filed at the Guadalupe police station against the suspects. (AYB)
