Four people were arrested and five illegal gaming machines were seized after Westminster police served a search warrant on a home suspected of being used as a “slap house,” or illegal gambling establishment Tuesday, May 30, authorities said.
Police also seized more than 17 grams of methamphetamine and about $5,000, Sgt. Eddie Esqueda said.
Detectives served the search warrant in the 8700 block of Thorpe Avenue about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Esqueda said. What led police to investigate the home was not disclosed.
Seven people were found inside and detained for questioning before police arrested four suspects, Esqueda said. Two of those suspects had outstanding warrants.
Additional information about the suspects was not disclosed.
