
Nashik: The Nashik police on Sunday raided Mumbai Naka police station area and found 15 gamblers.
Police registered a case against them under the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act and seized over Rs 62,000 cash and other articles.
The crime branch got a tip off that people were gambling in a flour mill near a residential society. Senior inspector, Vijay Dhamal of the crime branch set up a team and raided the place.
A senior police officer said that people enter into gambling frenzy during the Ganapati festival.
Commissioner of Police Ankush Shinde instructed different departments of all the police stations to be vigilant against such illegal businesses. Senior officers said that strict action would be taken against offenders.

During a raid, the police found the accused engaged in gambling inside the resort’s wellness center. They seized cash, poker chips, mobile phones, and liquor bottles. The resort owner and three others were booked, and an investigation is ongoing to determine if others were involved.
