14 nabbed for illegal gambling in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY – Policemen arrested 14 people in different parts of this city after being caught while engaging in illegal gambling.

In a statement on Tuesday, Oct. 4, city police director Colonel Juritz Rara said they arrested six men in front of the Holy Family Academy in Cutcut village and confiscated from them the coins used in the illegal numbers game “cara y cruz” and P2,040 in bet money.

In Claro M. Recto village, two people were arrested and P1,035 in bet money and a deck of playing cards were confiscated.

The suspects’ companion eluded arrest by running toward different directions upon seeing the approaching lawmen.

In Pampang village, three men were arrested after being caught playing cara y cruz. Bet money of P710 was confiscated from them.

In the parking lot of Metro Bean Coffee Shop in Sto. Rosario village, police arrested three people for playing cara y cruz. The suspects yielded P765 in bet money.

Rara said the suspects face charges of violating the anti-gambling law. INQ
